About Rob Orlando:

Rob Orlando, once known as the Strongman of CrossFit, competed in the CrossFit Games four times and faced his toughest challenge yet in early 2025 when diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in his lower jaw and neck lymph nodes. Remarkably, just a day before his diagnosis, he set a personal powerlifting best with a 1,525-pound total. In February, he underwent a grueling 13-hour surgery to remove part of his jaw, using bone grafted from his fibula.

Despite lasting numbness, paralysis, and nerve damage from the surgery, Rob returned to the gym just three weeks later and was back squatting 500 pounds six weeks post-op — all while still lacking feeling in his left foot. Through radiation, chemotherapy, and ongoing therapy, Rob’s Hybrid Athletics gym continues to thrive thanks to dedicated members and coaches, who he deeply thanks for their support during his recovery.
